Frequently Asked Questions

How Does Online Ordering Work?

All of the cakes and cupcakes under our Shop Online section can be ordered right through our secure website. When you place your order, you'll be able to choose free bakery pick-up or local delivery for a fee based on the zip code. You'll also be able to choose the date you'd like to get your desserts. Keep in mind that even if you order far in advance, we prepare your desserts to order so they are made fresh for pick-up or delivery. We require three days notice for online orders, so if you need something sooner, please give us a call at 215-598-5449 and we will try to accommodate you. Delivery is available Tuesday through Saturday, and pick-up is available Monday through Saturday.

How do I contact you?

You can reach us with our Contact Form, or by calling 215-598-5449. If you have a specific question for our designers, you can email us at info@whippedbakeshop.com. Talk to you soon!

Do you accept corporate orders?

Yes we do! We have done work for Martha Stewart, Four Seasons Hotels, Saks Fifth Avenue, CBS Radio, The University of Pennsylvania, and many others. We are able to create logo cookies and cupcakes, which are very popular gifts for clients and special events. If you give us enough notice, we can create something really amazing. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs.

How much notice do you need for custom orders?

We typically ask for at least a week's notice for custom cake orders. For large orders and more complex designs, more notice is appreciated. If you need goodies sooner, please check out the "Shop Online" area of our site. Items that can be ordered online have at least a 3-day lead time, but you can always order further in advance and your order will be made fresh when you need it. If you need something quicker than that, please call us directly and we will do our best to help you out!

What are your hours?

We are an appointment-only bakery and we do not have retail hours. The best way to start an order is to fill out our Contact Form.

How did Zoe learn to bake?

Zoë is a fine artist with a degree in painting from the Maryland Institute of College of Art. She has also been a baking enthusiast for most of her life. In 2003 she accepted an apprenticeship at Petit 4 Pastry Studio in Philadelphia. She was eventually hired and worked at several other bakeries after that. She finds it much more fun to own her own bakery. It's a dream come true.

Where did you come up with the name Whipped Bakeshop?

Zoë's husband Brennen was talking about the bakery idea with his good buddies John Freeborn and Jason Smith. They were narrowing down names when John said "Whipped Bakery" and Brennen replied with "Whipped Bakeshop." The name just clicked. Also, the URL was available. Finally, it is worth mentioning that Brennen is quite whipped by Zoe's desserts.

How did the bakery get started?

Zoe started posting pictures of her desserts on the picture sharing site Flickr and got a huge response. Before she knew it, orders were coming in and Whipped Bakeshop was born. Soon after that, the bakery was featured in Daily Candy and numerous other publications. It has been a wild ride ever since.

What is Whipped Bakeshop?

The bakery was founded in 2008 by Zoë and Brennen Lukas. In 2014, Martha Stewart Weddings magazine named us one of America's Top Pastry Pros. We're extremely proud to have earned such high praise!
