FAQs
We are an appointment-only bakery and we do not have walk-in retail hours. Everything we make is pre-ordered in advance. All pick-ups, consultations and cake tastings are done by appointment. If you have an order pickup scheduled, we are open Tuesday through Saturday 10-2. We are closed on Sundays.
If you're heading over to pick up your order, we're located north of Center City at 636 Belgrade Street, Philadelphia, PA 19125. It's in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia, at the corner of Berks and Belgrade Streets. You can check out a Google map before you head over. Street parking is usually easy to find nearby on Berks Street. Please keep in mind that we are an appointment-only bakery.
We specialize in amazing special occasion cakes, decorated cookies and cupcakes. We are known for our beautiful wedding cakes and our easy ordering process.
Yes, delivery is available in the Philadelphia area Wednesday through Saturday for an additional fee. Please see our delivery page to check if we deliver to your venue or zip code.
We ask for at least 3-4 weeks notice for custom orders. For events like large weddings, 6-12 months notice is typically needed. For quicker turnaround, please check out the Order Online section of our site. Most items in the Order Online section have at least a 2-7 day lead time. You can order online up to 6 months in advance.
The best way to start an order is to fill out our Contact Form. Once we receive your submission, we’ll confirm availability and reach out to you with next steps to help you design and order your cake. It’s a fun process and we’re excited to work with you. Please note that submitting the contact form does not constitute an order. Orders are finalized once payment is received.
Cake pricing varies depending on the design complexity and the number of servings. For accurate pricing, we recommend filling out our contact form so we can discuss the options with you. You can also try our Cake Pricing Estimator to get ballpark pricing for tiered custom cakes. In general, you can expect to invest $10-$16 per serving for an incredible tiered cake. All custom orders start at $200.
We are not an allergen-free bakeshop and do not recommend consumption of our products for people who are allergic or intolerant to wheat, gluten, nuts, soy, dairy or eggs. Everything we create contains butter and eggs. Nuts are used in our kitchen and cross-contact is possible. If you have a severe food allergy, we do not recommend consuming our products.
We strongly recommend placing your cake on a flat space in your vehicle, such as the trunk or on the floor of your vehicle. If you absolutely must have someone hold the cake (not recommended), be careful not to squeeze the sides of the box. Drive carefully, avoiding big bumps, fast turns and slamming your brakes. It helps to allow extra following distance.
Always place both hands underneath the cake when carrying.
Cakes should be transported cold so that they retain structural integrity during a trip.
Because our cakes and buttercreams are made with real butter, they’re best served at room temperature. If you plan to serve your cake the same day you receive it from us, please do not chill it. Keep it in a cool, safe location, out of direct sunlight.
If you’re serving your cake the next day or later, please refrigerate your cake overnight, and then pull it out 4-5 hours before serving. If your cake is tiered, let it sit out in a cool, protected area for at least 6 hours before serving. Again, the room location should not be hot or outside in direct sunlight, as the buttercream can begin to melt.
Please see our cake cutting guide for more information.
Use a long, sharp knife to cut slices, cleaning the blade with a damp towel between cuts if possible. Look for and remove all dowels, wires, support material, figurines, and/or sugar flowers before serving. It is not recommended to eat fondant models and sculptures, sugar flowers, and other three-dimensional cake decor. Please see our cake cutting guide for more information.
